Provide executive leadership across the organisation to ensure the implementation of a forward-looking research agenda which embraces novel approaches to diagnostics and therapeutics; and utilise extensive clinical experience to ensure that the Metro North Health research agenda is patient-centred, and carefully and systematically evaluates our clinical practice and the implementation of new knowledge to deliver world class healthcare.

Metro North Hospital and Health Service is the biggest and most diverse Hospital and Health Service in Queensland, delivering the best care by the brightest healthcare professionals.

Two of our five hospitals – Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) – are tertiary/quaternary referral hospitals, providing state-wide super specialty services, such as heart and lung transplantation and burns treatment. About The Role

  • Provide organisational-wide strategic executive leadership of research and implementation activities.Undertake leadership in research conduct by facilitating collaborative and ethical research, exercising due diligence to ensure the organisation is compliant with all relevant legislative, regulatory, funding and policy requirements.
  • Engage with the relevant support and enabling services (Finance, Support Services, Facilities/Directorates and Institutes) in Metro North Health to strengthen and improve support provided to researchers and encourage compliance with best practice research governance.
  • Actively promote positive organisational culture and values and build a climate committed to continuous improvement in research.
  • Champion the growth of Implementation Science and Knowledge Translation across the multidisciplinary professional workforce at Metro North Health.
  • Manage Research Budget that underpins Metro North Health Research Strategy initiatives and implementation plan
