About the Role

This is an ideal opportunity for you to join a proactive and contemporary team that will support you in providing a high level of leadership, direction and support in work health safety and injury management services across Griffith Base Hospital. You will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Safety Health and Wellbeing Management Framework, as well as meeting proactive regulatory and statutory compliance to achieve strategic objectives. You will also be responsible for ensuring early intervention and injury management principles are applied on all claims at Griffith Base Hospital, ensuring recover at work plans are created and monitored to facilitate a timely and durable recovery at work.

About You

You will have a passion for making a difference and understanding the importance of safety culture and the benefits of a strong employee wellbeing focus. To be considered for this opportunity you will be a pragmatic and proactive individual with:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Work Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in injury management and workers compensation, including current accreditation in NSW WorkCover Return to Work Coordination training.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying solutions and developing WHS and rehabilitation interventions such as strategies, initiatives, processes, systems, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive recover at work outcomes, through negotiation with key parties including injured workers, workplace managers and supervisors, medical and treatment professionals and Claims Manager.
  • Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to embed a high performing health safety and wellbeing culture.
