Our work in Forensic Intervention Services (FIS) starts with the belief that every person has the capacity to change and deserves the opportunity to make that change. By building connections with people who have offended (we call them service users) based on trust, professionalism, and empathy, we enable violent and sexual offenders to come to terms with their behaviour and develop insights that lead to better choices and a more constructive role in the community at the end of their sentence.

Led by highly respected leaders with a clear vision, we are transforming the way clinical forensic intervention is delivered in Australia and fast gaining national and international recognition.

We are in a period of exciting growth with several new clinical opportunities. Right now, we are looking for a Manager, Complex Interventions to provide strategic advice and leadership to the team, ensuring the successful delivery of clinical services.

How we work

Our aim is to create a safe environment where we can help service users – understand their maladaptive behaviours and equip them with better decision-making abilities.

Using best practice assessment and treatment tools in both group and individual sessions, we work as a multifaceted team combining skills from a variety of disciplines including psychology, social work, occupational therapy and mental health nursing.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team of Senior Clinicians, Clinicians and other support staff developing a world class program area within Corrections Victoria.

As the Manager, Complex Interventions, you will:
  • Proactively identify emerging issues to ensure responsivity to strategic service demands and ensure best practice is maintained
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal colleagues and stakeholders within Corrections Victoria, including the Prisons, Justice Services, Community Correctional Services, Sentence Management Division, Post Sentence Authority, Adult Parole Board, Courts and stakeholders within Government and in the non-Government sectors
  • Manage performance, service targets, resources, quality assurance and staffing within an allocated budget and according to program guidelines.
  • Achieve the agreed key performance indicators and service targets
  • Ensure staff receive mandatory training, supervision and professional development
This role will require travel and the delivery of after-hours services.

As our ideal candidate you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in providing leadership within a highly complex service delivery area, preferably in relation to clients with multiple and complex needs and/or within a legislative framework
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex service delivery management, oversight and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the nature of, and contemporary literature in relation to, forensic interventions
  • Demonstrated understanding and operational knowledge of the corrections system and key issues impacting Corrections Victoria
  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary team of service delivery staff
