An exciting opportunity exists to join the newly established virtualKIDS service - NSW’s first paediatric specific virtual hospital. The team are looking for a dynamic administrative officer to join the service. Suitable candidates will be working within a newly formed team supporting the call centre, scheduling patients into clinics, managing data collection, liaising with clinicians internal and external to SCHN as well as our patients and families. Suitable candidates should have a good understanding of IT platforms used within Health as well as video conferencing equipment.

virtualKIDS will act as the single access point to SCHN for Local Health Districts and GPs, providing a 24/7 gateway for local services to access the Network’s specialty paediatric care. Through technology and virtual care, virtualKIDS will support patients receiving care closer to home through functions such as remote monitoring, a patient and family hotline, coordinating virtual ward rounds and specialty advice facilitation.

This role is a temporary 6 month position, with the potential for extension after the initial pilot of virtualKIDS. Roster will be 8 hr shifts, day and afternoon across 7 days.

Demonstrated experience in administration working within a medical environment

Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organisational skills, with internal and external stakeholders

Proven medical terminology and audio transcription experience with accurate and advance keyboard skills

Proven ability to learn, or relevant experience with navigating various databases and scheduling systems

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Word, Outlook , Excel

Proven ability to use initiative, to work autonomously and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Proven ability to prioritise workload in a high activity environment and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
