Austin Health's Mental Health Division incorporates a number of specialities and services across community and bed-based services, with inpatient beds located on all three campuses. The Division provides catchment-based area mental health services, in addition to a number of regional and statewide specialty services.

HOPE - Psychosocial Support Officer

Hours per week: 30.4hrs (0.8 EFT) or 22.8hrs (0.6 EFT) considered

Flexible rostering arrangements including after hours and weekend work

Employment status: Permanent, part-time

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Psychosocial Support Officer (PSO) to join our Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement (HOPE) program. The service provides tailored, holistic support to people post a suicide attempt with the aim of supporting the person and their carers and families to identify and build the protective factors that reduce the risk of suicide and/or repeated intentional self-harm. The position will work in collaboration with the clinical team to promote a client's wellbeing by supporting connectedness with the community, implementing goals and strategies with clients and their carers/families.
