Outstanding candidates are encouraged to apply for positions now open at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre - a place where our normal days are extraordinary; as are the people we care for.

Peter Mac is one of a handful of integrated cancer research, education and treatment centres in the world. Each day our team strives to provide the very best in cancer care, even better treatments and potential cancer cures for all people affected by cancer.

Globally, we are facing one of the most pivotal times in the pursuit of cancer cures, and Peter Mac stands at its forefront. Together, we aim to lead a new era of cancer prevention, care and discovery, supported by state-of-the-art facilities at our new home within the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre building.

Your role in our future.

There are two positions available, both full-time (1.0EFT), fixed-term for 12 months (maternity leave backfills). This is an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated Grade 1 dietitians to be based within the Nutrition and Speech Pathology Department of this specialist cancer centre.

We are seeking dietitians with some clinical experience in oncology (minimum of 6 months not including student placements), who are passionate about working in oncology, have demonstrated leadership skills, are hardworking, adaptable and have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. A structured and supportive supervision model is provided in addition to opportunities for accessing mentoring and professional development. Some involvement in department quality, education/training, projects and research in line with Department goals is expected.

The successful applicants will provide evidence based specialised nutrition and dietetic services to inpatients and ambulatory patients in a multidisciplinary care setting at the Peter Mac Melbourne campus. This position is not linked with a specific clinical workload, however the successful applicant will work in/across major tumour streams, including head and neck, gastrointestinal and/or haematology, as negotiated within the department. This includes seeing patients across the entire trajectory including patients from all tumour streams and undergoing all types of cancer treatment.

For further information about this opportunity, please review the position description and/or contact us for a confidential discussion.
