The Position

Position Title: Health Information Services Officer Nights and Evenings
Classification: HS1
Hours per fortnight: 3 part-time positions
Employment Status: Ongoing

Key Responsibilities:
Create and update registration details for emergency presentations in accordance with the Bendigo Health Registration Policy;
Administration of admissions, discharges, transfers (ADT), care type changes for the Emergency Department along with overnight support for administrative functions on ADT of wards;
Provide clerical support to the Emergency Department nursing, allied health and medical staff
Preparation of emergency department documents for scanning to the electronic record;

The Team

The Quality and Patient Information Division provides leadership for the nursing workforce throughout Bendigo Health. Quality and Patient Information provides leadership and support for quality improvement, patient safety and experience and health information services across the organisation. The division, through both Health Information Services and Quality have key roles in medical record management, clinical documentation, freedom of information, patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, external reporting and compliance requirements. There is a strong strategic and operational focus of promoting quality improvement, supporting the organisation to review incidents, data and systems to improve patient outcomes and efficiency of the business.

In addition, the Executive Director of Quality and Patient Information holds the professional portfolio of Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer. Nurses are the largest work group within Bendigo Health and the division is focused on supporting our nursing workforce to feel valued and empowered. 01.Demonstrated high level of computer skills including the ability to operate multiple Microsoft Office products and various other in house programs and databases.

02.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise judgement and discretion.

03.Demonstrated ability to adapt and work in an ever changing environment, particularly in relation to introduction of new and updated technologies, different working areas, workstations and people.

04.Demonstrated high level of data entry skills.

Essential:
05.Experience in dealing with a digital and/or scanned records and document management system.

Essential:
06.Previous health care administration experience.

Essential:
07.Previous experience working shift work and the ability to adapt to night shift work relevant to position.

Essential:
08.Ability to be happy and confident to work independently with minimum supervision.
