About the Quality and Safety Unit

Working closely with stakeholders, we support program leaders to embed the strong clinical governance processes described in the Monash Health Clinical Governance Framework.

About The Role

You will manage the Clinical Outcomes team who are responsible for

  • The monthly Clinical Governance Report.

  • RiskMan system administration including upgrades.

  • Coordinating and conducting serious incident reviews.

You will:

  • Conduct serious clinical incident reviews including sentinel events

  • Ensure RiskMan runs as effectively as possible

  • Ensure a standardised approach to reviewing serious clinical incidents.

  • Ensure timely production of the monthly Clinical Governance Report.

  • Analyse and report on themes identified in reviews of incidents, complaints and deaths.

  • Participate in clinical indicator variance reviews using data from internal and external sources.

  • Ensure external reporting requirements are met e.g. Quarterly reporting to VAHI.

About You

You have been developing your management and leadership skills or you are an accomplished Manager; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your career. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic environment and are passionate about clinical governance. You are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles

What You Need:

  • Bachelor degree in a health discipline (overseas qualifications will be considered).

  • Flexible working environment

  • A higher degree in health or quality management or progress towards such a qualification would be an advantage

  • Clinical experience.

  • Strong report writing skills.

  • Attention to detail.
