About the organisation

Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is a not-for-profit aged care and community service provider that was established in July 2014 to operate residential care facilities and community care programs in the Northern Territory. ARRCS provides regional care and support to people and their communities throughout the Northern Territory from Darwin to Docker River. About the role

In the same grounds as Old Timers Village, lies our Fred McKay Day Therapy Centre. At Fred McKay we offer respite, socialisation, and Allied Health services to help clients maintain their independence and chosen lifestyles. The facility features a hydrotherapy pool, fully equipped gym, physiotherapy rooms, an accessible kitchen and a large multi-purpose area.

We have a full time opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join our team on 12 Month Fixed Term Contracts working at the Day Therapy Centre and ARRCS residential aged care centres. In this role you will work under the direction of the physiotherapist to implement individual treatment sessions (e.g. exercise program, soft tissue massage, hydrotherapy) with community clients and/or aged care residents. This role will also include facilitating the set up and running of group exercise classes, completing general housekeeping in physiotherapy treatment area and assist with weekly maintenance of nursing home equipment, including cleaning of wheelchairs and oxygen concentrators.

Skills and experience

Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant and/or have completed a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health and/or be completing an undergraduate health degree/training.
Good computer literacy and willingness to learn new computer software as required.
Demonstrated time-management skills.
Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must have a current National Police Check, 2020 flu vaccination, OCHRE card and NT Drivers’ License or a willingness to obtain prior to commencing
