Full Job Description
The Facility:
This is a Tertiary and level 3 Teaching Hospital with just under 400 beds and around 1,700 staff. The hospital services a population of 200,000 in a catchment area including urban communities, regional hospitals and remote Aboriginal communities. The hospital is affiliated with Flinders University with an onsite Medical School.

The Location:
Situated on the edge of a harbour bigger than Sydney's, this is a beautiful, fascinating tropical city, a melting pot of people and cultures that prides itself on its unique and friendly laid-back lifestyle.

While a sophisticated, modern city in its own right, it is also one steeped in history, one that has endured many hardships on its way to establishing itself as the gateway to Asia. It is the home of NT commerce and business and with its world-class natural and cultural attractions it is also a thriving hub of activity in terms of tourism, nightlife and retail.

The Role:
To provide high quality Infectious Diseases and General Medicine specialist care through participation in: inpatients, outpatients and Hospital in the Home clinical services. Supervision and teaching of junior staff, continuous quality improvement activities and active involvement in departmental professional development opportunities is an integral part of this role. In addition this position will have a specific role in providing specialist Infectious Disease support to the Infection Prevention services within the health service.

This is a part time vacancy available for 0.8 (30 hrs) per week. (Negotiable).

Of the role around 0.5-0.6 FTE will be clinic service and of that one third to one half (maximum) would be general medicine.

The Requirements:
It is essential that you either hold the FRACP or have an equivalent qualification recognised by the RACP as substantially comparable.

You will need the specialist qualification in both Infectious Diseases & General Medicine.
