JOB DESCRIPTION

Physiotherapist | Grade 3

  • Eastern Health Neonatal Physiotherapy

  • Permanent Part Time - 16 hours per week

Eastern Health

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and statewide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

About the role

An opportunity exists for a passionate and enthusiastic Grade 3 Physiotherapist with significant clinical knowledge and experience in neonatal and newborn physiotherapy. You will provide leadership and clinical expertise in the area of neonatal physiotherapy, supporting the delivery of evidence-based clinical services for infants in the Special Care Nursery (SCN) and some outpatient settings.

This is a great time to join our team - this senior allied health SCN service was established in 2018, has a new Paediatric (Medical) Clinical Director and will have the opportunity to be directly professionally supervised by our Grade 4 Physiotherapy Project Lead (Paediatrics) until late 2021. This role will afford you the opportunities to lead and shape physiotherapy and allied health services in this specialty area, developing your leadership, supervisory and service development skills.

We are looking for someone with the ability to work autonomously as well as in a multi-disciplinary team environment, who is solution-focussed, resourceful, and thrives through change and challenge. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a real difference at the level of the patient, family, team, profession, and service through direct practice with opportunity for translational research, we would encourage you to apply.

About you

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in relevant discipline

  • Current registration with Australian Physiotherapy Board (AHPRA)

  • Eligibility for Membership of Professional Association

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications, or commencement thereof

  • Interest in pursuing research desirable but not essential

  • Extensive clinical experience in neonatal physiotherapy

  • Experience in leadership of staff, including professional development and supervision

  • Experience in supervision of students

  • Experience in clinical education of staff and students

  • Excellent team integration skills

  • Sound knowledge of community organisations and networks
