What is the opportunity? 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Safeguarding team as a National Compliance Specialist - External. This role is responsible for compliance with external third party stakeholders and independent operational compliance for our customers and staff nationwide.

This is your chance to be part of a small but highly specialist team with responsibility for ensuring the appropriate external auditing regime is in place and there is a systematic process to monitor the implementation of management action plans from audits. Your approach will be centered on best practice, reflection and support, continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.

We currently have an opportunity to join our team and be based in one of our New South Wales offices located at Islington, Burwood or Bella Vista. This is a highly mobile role with national reach and you will need to be willing and able to travel to services and offices both within NSW and interstate on a frequent basis. This is a full-time position (38 hours per week, Monday-Friday) offered as a permanent role.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and working collaboratively with the Board, Executive Leadership Team and staff in the development of a robust Quality management system in line with ISO9001
  • Continuously improve the Lifestyle Solutions Quality Management System
  • Lead and manage all external audits across all Australian States and Territories
  • Conduct self-assessments against relevant standards and legislation. Provide analysis to develop or improve systems to support compliance
  • Building relationships with State Departments and external audit providers 
  • Conducting internal audits
  • Providing expert advice on practice to support Lifestyle Solutions meet strategic goals 

What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for an excellent communicator who can - 

  • Work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • Build rapport and trust with multiple stakeholders
  • Work in an environment of change to manage competing tasks and priorities
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of practice and WHS auditing requirements applicable to Lifestyle Solutions
  • Lead the external audit process, compliance certification and implementation of management action plans
  • Proficiently use Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
  • Be willing and able to travel to all States and Territories
  • Coordinate the escalation of corrective action and escalation reporting
  • Demonstrate a high level of analytical and reporting skills

Desirable but not essential:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in auditing and quality
  • Knowledge of State based frameworks
  • Knowledge of NDIS practice standards
  • Knowledge of various State based stakeholders including, but not limited to; DCJ (NSW), Office of the Children's Guardian (NSW), Department of Children, Youth and Multicultural Affairs (QLD) and various Department of Communities (WA, TAS, SA)
  • Understanding of Human Services Sector
