About the role

South West Healthcare's (SWH) Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC) provide comprehensive clinical support and care to our regional consumers. The available position of Peer Support Worker provides active support and requires an understanding of the needs of consumers derived primarily from their own lived experience which compliments the professional knowledge and skills of the clinical staff.

The position also provides peer support to consumers and their families; is involved in their treatment and recovery planning and to participate in providing education to the consumer, family, carers and staff.

This is a permanent part time position covering 40 hours per fortnight.

What you bring

As a lived experienced Peer Support Worker you will also have developed experience and skills in effective communication, have a commitment to recovery and patient centred care and be familiar with the peer support values.

Applicants for this position should have knowledge and skills in the discipline of peer support work, and have a lived experience as a mental health consumer.

The successful applicant will be required to be eligible for and undergo the following:

  • Current Immunisation status
