The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia; we are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services, education and research within a region covering over 149,500km with a population of approximately 250,000 people.

The Townsville University Hospital offers a comprehensive speech pathology service across the lifespan to support patients through their acute hospital admission, recovery following discharge or when accessing other specialist outpatient services. Speech Pathologists work closely with medical officers, nursing and other allied health staff to optimise patient recovery and well-being.

About your opportunity
In this role the successful applicant will deliver specialist level speech pathology clinical services and professional leadership across various clinical care areas at the Townsville University Hospital. The position will manage and coordinate speech pathologists working within clinical care teams delivering speech pathology clinical services to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health at The Townsville University Hospital.

Salary range of $4748.20 to $4954.40 p.f. (HP5), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Other employment benefits may include: professional development, salary sacrificing options, shift and locality allowances, corporate discounts, wellness programs and the EAP.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Speech Pathologist who can demonstrate the following:
  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Therapy/Pathology providing eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Highly desirable: Certified Practicing Speech Pathology Status with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • The position may be required to participate in a seven-day rostering system.
