Service Manager

Permanent, full-time opportunity

About the role

We are seeking a Service Manager to provide holistic care, operational excellence and supervision to staff. You will manage the day-to-day clinical, hospitality, administration, maintenance and lifestyle operations of the site. Yes, it's a big job but we believe it will be equally as rewarding. You'll be well supported with a team of clinical carers who will benefit from your strong leadership and motivational style. Support will also come from working closely with the Regional Manager and regional support team in relation to quality and compliance management.

This position is based in the stunning Central West region of QLD. Away from work, you will be able to enjoy the wilderness and natural attractions of the Blackall area including natural artesian springs and beautiful national parks. If you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city as well as a rewarding role that has a positive impact on the lives of seniors, this might be the right opportunity for you. Our Barcoo Service is a Multipurpose Service with both Commonwealth and State funded programs. We have an aged care facility of 24 beds with expansion of a further 8 beds planned. You will work closely with the Service Manager of Home Care co-located at the facility. As a multipurpose service our aim is to provide services to the town of Blackall and surrounding communities and these may be quite diverse dependant upon identified need.

Where required, to help you settle into the region, you may be provided with relocation assistance. Additional Salary Packaging benefits are also offered to our remote staff. This could allow you to claim 50% of your annual mortgage, rent, or fuel expenses as FBT exempt.

About you

You are driven by challenges and looking for a role where your input will make a real and substantial difference to the lives of our residents. You will have ability to effectively implement changes at an organisational level, and to manage the human resource aspects of a remote service.

You will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • A current AHPRA registration as a Nurse;
  • Current experience leading and mentoring a clinical care workforce, in the aged care industry;
  • Knowledge of the accreditation system, as well as funding & regulatory requirements for aged care facilities;
  • A current driver's licence;
  • Ability to obtain a national police certificate;
  • Be able to undertake a personal insolvency check;
  • Be able to evidence Flu vaccine, as per the yearly requirements;
