We are looking for an energetic, efficient and professional individual as Patient Services Officer (12 months FTC) to join our facilities based in Auchenflower, QLD. The Patient Services Officer provides administrative and support to staff, patients and clinicians to ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient administration service is consistently provided to patients. This is a casual full-time role and requires someone flexible to travel to a few of our centres to support the team.
What You’ll Do
- Maintaining efficient and accurate diary management, including following up on cancellations, no shows and rescheduled appointments
- Booking and confirming patients for tests and consultations
- Meeting and greeting patients attending the clinic and maintain scheduling of appointments
- Ensuring all patients are fully financially consented and prepared for any consulting or testing services
- Attending to and finalise all patient tasks in a timely manner
- Ensuring all patient queries, ward requests and doctor requests are dealt with and finalised in a timely manner
- Incoming call management: answering the phone within three rings; dealing with callers enquiries and assessing urgency of enquiry in accordance with practice guidelines and supporting other staff members in managing their calls.
- Completing all opening and closing procedures as outlined in site manuals
- Finalising daily banking
- Maintaining complete and accurate medical records
- Participating in the identification and implementation of service improvement initiatives
- Liaising with management if any adjustments of efforts within a day are needed to meet reception demands
- Demonstrated ability in an administrative role within a busy, customer focussed environment, medical preferred
- Handle and resolve urgent matters and time critical medical appointments
- Strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proven experience to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of patient billing systems and related Medicare funding mechanisms
- Ability to use clinical administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office software
- Collaborative approach in working with the wider Administration team and other internal customers, in line with the organisations values
- Flexible approach to work
