About Us

With a proven and well-established reputation, Kern draws on over 25 years’ experience in allied health coupled with a dedicated vision: to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Whether working with individuals and their families in the hospital, aged care, or community settings, we want to set the standard for allied health services in WA. By being responsive and service focused, but at the same time completely values driven, our success lies in keeping the person at the centre of everything we do.

We believe that by successfully developing different and better ways of delivering therapy, we will positively influence what other providers strive to offer, and in turn raise the bar for what people will expect from their therapy service provider. By extension this will improve therapy outcomes for those that need it and provide greater value for the available public health funding.

To understand what we want a career at Kern to be, watch our video at https://kernhealth.com.au/about/career/

The Role

As a mobile community-based occupational therapist, working as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy throughout the Peel, Rockingham and Sth Metro regions.

You will provide occupational therapy services to children, adults, or individuals across the lifespan and where relevant, their families and carers, across a range of therapy needs from short-term interventions to complex, long-term needs.

The role is expected to deliver occupational therapy services predominantly for NDIS participants, however, there will also be a requirement for service provision to private clients who may seek occupational therapy services through Kern Allied Health. Experience working with people who have a range of diagnosed disabilities is desirable.

If successful, you will be supported by your respective clinical team leader and work in an interdisciplinary system alongside our dedicated speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, positive behaviour support practitioners and therapy assistants.

What You’ll Need:

  • A Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) or approved equivalent
  • Full AHPRA registration
  • A genuine passion for quality allied health care delivery that optimises the positive impact Kern’s services have on the people we support
  • Alignment with and commitment to Kern’s core values of Respect, Compassion and Teamwork
  • Ability to demonstrate, encourage and support a culture of high standards, motivation, and enthusiasm
  • Actively contribute to a safe, supportive, and enjoyable work environment
  • A focus on personal and professional growth with an ability to identify and seek out opportunities to advance your career
  • A commitment to continuous quality improvement. Always seeking more effective and efficient ways to deliver services, taking initiative to implement any evidence-based practice improvements, or bringing ideas to the clinical leadership team
  • A valid police clearance and working with children check
  • A valid West Australian drivers’ licence

Commitment to Our Team

At Kern, attracting, developing, and retaining passionate therapists has always been at the core of everything we do.

By asking therapists to work in the best interests of their clients, without compromise, by being able to offer career diversity and progression and by supporting personal, as well as professional growth, we also aim to reinvent the therapist experience in health.
