What You'll Be Doing

Responsible for the quality and timely completion of Forensic Post Mortems in conjunction with and under the direction of a Forensic Pathologist, and perform any associated duties of a Forensic Mortuary, to provide a respectful service for the deceased, families and the wider community.

  • Hold a minimum Certificate Level IV or equivalent qualification in a relevant field to which the role applies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental anatomy and physiology, and a basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, and adopt self-care strategies
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner in a team environment, and to effectively communicate with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Capability to display initiative and attention to detail in all aspects of clinical and administrative work practices.
  • Sound computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office applications and ability to use information management systems.
  • Willingness to work shift work and participate in an on-call roster, and travel in accordance with the demands of the role holding a current NSW driver’s licence.
  • Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
