EMR Report Analyst

  • Assist RMH to maximize access to clinical and operational data from the EMR.

  • Work collaboratively with the Health Intelligence Team, EMR team (RMH & central) and key stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver solutions using tools within Epic and also Microsoft (SSRS)

Your new team

  • The Parkville EMR is a world-class system shared by The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Royal Children’s Hospital to support high-quality, seamless healthcare in Parkville and improve health outcomes for Victorians

  • Implemented in August 2020, the EMR is used by more than 15,000 clinicians and staff across the four health services and is delivered in partnership with Epic, a global leader in health information technology

  • The Health Intelligence Team is responsible for data warehousing, integration, reporting and analytics for numerous source systems at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, including EMR data. The team also supports bespoke data capture (eg REDCap), research and has a variety of reporting tools used by staff at all levels.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Develop knowledge of the Epic EMR environment including functional capabilities and data models

  • Be responsible for building and deploying reports which includes Epic reports & dashboards and SSRS

  • Complete successful Epic certification in reporting

  • Manage the triage of reporting requests and development, testing and deployment of reports as needed. Ensure that the end users can utilise, interpret and analyse reports to maximise the benefits of the system

  • Validate data against known metrics and statutory reporting requirements to ensure the highest degree of data accuracy, data quality and integrity

Your Contribution

  • Expert level report writing, understanding of processes and use of BI tools (Microsoft stack)

  • Ability to work in a team based environment with individual and shared deliverables

  • Experience working in a tertiary hospital environment and/or Healthcare applications will be highly regarded

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (2 years minimum)

  • Strong analytical and innovative problem solving skills
