Open Arms is the leading provider of mental health services for veteran's and their families - they are a service founded by Vietnam war veterans which now provide essential services to all veteran's and their families.
As an Australia wide team they provide face to face counselling, telephone based support and case management to individuals and their families through a combination of proven clinical practices and new evidence based approaches.

You would be joining a large team of passionate and highly professional specialist staff, within a supportive working environment which provides clinical supervision, professional development opportunities and peer and management support.

Your new role
The Senior Clinical Quality Improvement Officer is a key role in supporting the design and implementation of clinical quality improvement and risk reduction activities, to ensure that Open Arms delivers the highest quality clinical care to Australian Veteran’s and their families. As a member of the Clinical Safety and Quality section, and reporting to the Assistant Director, Clinical Quality Improvement, this role is responsible for carrying out a range of organisational assessments and interventions, focused on understanding, assessing and improving the services provided by Open Arms. In doing so, this role will operate with a national remit, supporting the development, improvement and assurance of Open Arms’ services across the country.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualifications and relevant registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse or with AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker, OR a minimum of 3 year’s clinically relevant experience.
  • Current Police Check, or ability to obtain one
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with and develop productive working relationships with other teams and organisations
  • Experience in clinical service provision
  • Experience in the conduct of continuous quality improvement activities or organisational development focused on clinical services
  • Community or Defence mental health team experience
  • Experience in treating substance abuse, mood, and anxiety disorders (including PTSD)
