About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

Stretton Park is located at 35-47 Kent Street, Maffra where we are privileged to be able to service the community with 42 residential aged care beds and 19 Independent Living Units. Stretton Park is a private (not for profit) aged care facility and is governed by the Stretton Park Board of Management and managed by CGH.

About the Role

We are seeking an appropriately qualified Registered Nurse to deliver the role of Nurse Unit Manger at our Stretton Park campus in a permanent full-time capacity. Your role will be to enable high quality resident focused care within the aged care environment and professional clinical leadership in an environment that seeks to build aged care service capability.

Duties

  • Work as part of a large multidisciplinary team that provides services across a very broad range of
    residential aged care requirements
  • Support appropriate clinical care practices in a residential aged care setting
  • Support the care team in appropriately prioritising resident needs and operate efficiently and
    effectively
  • Consult with other health service staff as required with respect to resident management and
    related issues
  • Support effective admission and discharge practices which support planned approaches to care

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse holding current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board
    of Australia
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification/s and or technical qualifications or working
    towards
  • Previous Management experience
