About the role:
Join the friendly team at Walcha Multi Purpose Service (MPS) in providing compassionate person centred care within the facility and ensuring safe care is delivered in collaboration with patients, families, carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. With such a varied workload, support is provided via phone across the district and the rural referral hospital network in the HNE Health network.

Staff at the MPS are encouraged and supported to discuss situations with other staff and are afforded educational opportunities provided both face to face and via My Health Learning modules.

Where you'll be working:
Walcha MPS is a twenty seven bed facility providing coverage in General Medical, Emergency and Residential Aged Care. This role provides care across the fifteen residential aged care patients, nine sub-acute beds and two dedicated ED beds. Our service has a General Practitioner Visiting Medical Officer (GP VMO) who provides support during the day and after hours.

Walcha is located on the New England Tablelands and is well known for its fine wool and being one of the largest stock carrying areas in NSW. For those who like to explore the outdoors there is the Apsley Waterfalls, Tia Waterfalls, Budds Mare Lookout, Riverside, Werrikimbe and Willi Willi National Parks with bushwalking, camping and 4WDing. You can take advantage of the rural lifestyle to raise your family with the town having two primary schools and a preschool. Affordable housing, and the prospect of this being within the town or located in your own slice of the country, the lifestyle options are many. The arts council hosts visiting theatre companies and artist workshops. There is strong support for sport and the annual agricultural show and races are community highlights.

About you:
You are a dedicated Registered Nurse with a broad range of experience, including working within an Emergency Department environment and making complex decisions. To be successful in the role you will feel confident in working autonomously and seeking advice when required. You will also have evidence of advanced practice skills, including documented qualifications in Advanced Life Support, and Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK) as well as having First Line Emergency Care Certificate (FLECC) or willingness to commence within 12 months of employment.
