About The Opportunity
Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) is recruiting to a full or part time Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 position with the Liverpool Older Peoples’s Mental Health Community Team based at Liverpool Hospital. The Team operates within a collaborative and supportive work environment and is part of a larger District OPMH Service in which continuing professional development is highly valued

Our services provide assessment and treatment for a range of mental health needs and disorders and our priorities include early intervention and promoting mental health in our community.

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice. The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with the health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes. The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management of the care in the given specialty.

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty

  2. Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive

  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs

  4. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise

  5. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care

  6. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace

  7. Demonstrated experience providing evidence based and recovery orientated assessment and treatment for mental health consumers

  8. Demonstrated skills in leadership and clinical supervision
