About the role:

You will join one of the world’s leading and connected rural health services as a Registered Nurse(RN) where we are driven by a single goal; healthier rural people- thriving communities. Providing these services as part of a dynamic team of expert clinicians is vital to ensuring this goal is achieved.

Patient care is the heart of an RN in western NSW. The RN is responsible for providing nursing care to patients/clients of the health service; leading and supervising other nurses (Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing), and collaborating with physicians and other care roles in the team to coordinate and deliver care. The RN has leadership skills and clinical judgement which is trusted and valued to coordinate patient care and direct activities of the care team.

Forbes hospital is part of the Lachlan Health Service (which also includes nearby Parkes hospital) and is a major district health service and procedural hospital.

Forbes hospital was refurbished in 2016 so much of the facility is newly renovated, enabling you to look after our community in a bright modern, happy facility with state of the art equipment.

Boasting 27 beds, Forbes Hospital includes emergency, acute and sub-acute medical, rehabilitation and palliative care services, two birthing and two maternity rooms, an operating theatre, six renal dialysis chairs, two day treatment spaces and medical imaging. Community and primary health services including outreach services to surrounding smaller towns are co-located on the campus. With such a diverse range of services you will have many more opportunities to experience a wide variety of presentations, building your skills base and fast tracking your career.

You’ll be awestruck by the warmth and friendliness of the locals in Forbes. There will always be a warm hello, from the local butcher to the stranger on the street. Forbes is a mix of heritage building and contemporary public art, creating an eclectic streetscape that surround the centrepiece of the town, Lake Forbes.
