About Mental Health Program at Monash Health

Monash Health Mental Health Services provides a range of community, bed-based and specialist services covering the Casey, Cardinia, Greater Dandenong, Kingston and Monash LGAs – a population of nearly one million. It has an operational budget of $130 million and employs approximately 820 EFT, representing over 1000 staff.

The Program has a number of clinical inpatient units and community based programs. Southern Synergy supports the Mental Health Programs with specialist research innovations. The clinical service is supported by an aligned operational structure to enable the provision of high quality service through the creation of clinical-operational partnerships to support staff, patients, carers and their families, and a strong professional structure that supports the governance of health professional workforce.

About Casey Area Mental Health Service and the ICP Team

The Intensive Care Package Team

  • Highly skilled multi-disciplinary team providing clinical support to clients experiencing ongoing complex mental health challenges within the Casey/Cardinia community

  • Discipline specific interventions within the mental health program

  • Addressing recurring acute admissions and episodes of care through providing interventions such as but not limited to AOD support, CBT, DBT, functional interventions, family therapy including single session work and Peer support.

About the Role

The role of ICP Senior Occupational Therapist is a clinical role designed to work collaboratively with a team to support those most vulnerable in the community. The successful applicant will have the rare opportunity to be a part of something that we anticipate to be life changing for many. The team will be encouraged and supported to think broadly and seek innovative opportunities for a recovery based provision of care, including both systemic and therapeutic interventions.

You will be involved in working closely with our Continuing Care team and Mobile Support Teams in providing a seamless model of care to clients requiring additional intensive and targeted interventions to support their recovery journey.

About You

  • Ability to build strong working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Ability to provide a strong evidence based model of care focussed on Recovery principles

  • Display robust and effective clinical and leadership skills

What you need:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or relevant equivalent degree.

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist https://www.occupationaltherapyboard.gov.au/

  • Minimum seven years’ experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist

  • Additional Post Graduate Qualifications in a relevant area of practice highly regarded

  • Experience working in an adult mental health setting or and/or extensive experience in a relevant area of practice
