The Shepherd Centre is a world leading, not-for-profit organisation, that runs specialised paediatric programs for children with hearing impairment and their families, to enable them to develop their listening and spoken language skills and go on to achieve their full potential in life. We have been operating for over 50 years and currently help over 600 children and their families each year, through 6 centres across NSW and ACT and our teleintervention and e-learning platforms.

About the role:

Our Clinical team is a brilliant team of clinicians, consisting of specialist Audiologists, Speech Pathologists and Child & Family Counsellors, who work together to provide an integrated approach, to empower families to achieve the goals they set for themselves and their child. The Executive Assistant to our General Manager who leads this special team, will shortly be taking maternity leave, so we are searching for another superstar to replace her for a period of 8 months.

This fantastic role based in Newtown (right near Macdonaldtown train station), has a great mix of EA and project coordination responsibilities. Working from home will be an option at times. We are ideally looking for someone who can join us by 15th March and become part of our team through until the end of November 2021.

This part-time role (preferably working approximately 22 hours, across 3-4 days per week), will provide you with flexibility and work/life balance, while still keeping you challenged, as part of a family friendly and professional team. Actual working days and hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Typical diary management and meeting coordination for the GM and her leadership team (mainly GM)
  • Monitoring, filtering and responding to emails and requests
  • Attending leadership team meetings and keeping minutes
  • Building and coordinating meeting agendas and all aspects of larger team get togethers (via video conference and face to face)
  • Putting together clinical board reports, including some data and results analysis and presentation of information in PowerPoint
  • Working on small ad hoc clinical projects as required

About you:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Assistant, with strong coordination capabilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Excellent communicator who can quickly build rapport with all stakeholders
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Teams will be highly regarded
  • Confidence and ability to work on board level reporting and presentations
  • A strong customer service and team work focus
  • Full working rights for Australia
  • A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
