Little TheraPeas is a Paediatric Therapy clinic with a passion for helping children and their families reach independence and success throughout their lives. We are seeking a passionate and approachable Allied Health Therapy Assistant to join our team and assist in expanding our services to clients. The clinic based in Baringa (Caloundra West) however we offer both in clinic and home/school/kindy visit sessions. The position would start as a casual moving to full/part time with client demand and employee preference.
Little TheraPeas currently offers Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Therapy Assistant services for children aged 0-18years.
Little TheraPeas provides services to children with the following presentations: ADD/ADHD, ASD, chromosomal and genetic disorders, developmental delays, self-care difficulties, handwriting difficulties, motor skill delays, sensory processing difficulties, play skill difficulties, mental health diagnosis and difficulties and feeding difficulties.
Your role:
- Providing allied health assistant early intervention services to a range of paediatric clients of different ages and with differing levels of functioning and ability. This includes both in-home support, out-of-home/community access based support and in clinic support. These supports will be following recommendations from therapists to support the child's independence, daily living skills and learning requirements, such as, fine and gross motor skills, reading, writing, behaviour, attention, play skills etc.
- Work closely with parents to support children's functioning within the home context.
- Work under the direct and when required indirect supervision of therapists (predominately Occupational Therapists, however, may also include Speech and Language Pathologists, Psychologists and Physiotherapists) to implement set treatment plans and home therapy programs. Training and support will be provided in order to implement these and may include a range of affiliated allied health providers who comprise the particular child's therapy team.
- Supporting therapists with conducting therapy groups with children 0-18years (such as groups for prep readiness, handwriting, motor skills, etc.)
- Resource development and maintenance.
- Set-up/pack-up of rooms and equipment for therapy sessions/group.
- Completing concise and thorough progress notes to be shared with the therapy team after consultations.
You are required to have:
- Open Australian Drivers License with roadworthy and insured vehicle
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
The following additional attributes will be very highly regarded:
- Tertiary qualification (or in the progress of obtaining) in relevant field (allied health, education, etc)
- Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Experience in an Early Intervention program (ABA, ESDM, DIR Floortime, etc)
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Salary: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
