Quality Assurance Officer

We have a great opportunity available within our organisation and are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join the team. 


The role will be focused on the review, editing and finalisation of independent medical reports which are authored by our National Referral Network of Medical Specialists and Allied Health Professionals.


You will work closely with our medical experts and provide proof-reading, education and industry based guidance to ensure our reports meet the highest level of quality.


It isn't just about grammar and punctuation for us. You will review draft report content to ensure all the appropriate and relevant information has been included in the report and the applicable legislations and guides have been used correctly by the medical experts, whilst also ensuring that specific client requirements have been met, such as providing definitive and detailed responses to their specific questions.


You will also review the methodology and calculations of permanent impairment for physical and psychological injuries by way of the relevant guidelines and schemes as part of our quality assurance process. 


All relevant training and development will be provided to you.


If you are an experienced medical or legal secretary, typist or paralegal, you would be an ideal candidate for this role.


The successful applicant will have: 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a legal, medical or compensation environment.
  • An understanding of Permanent Impairment Guidelines and Methodology such as AMA 4, 5 and 6, PIRS, GAF etc (preferred).
  • An understanding of Workers Compensation Schemes throughout Australia, particularly in QLD, TAS, NSW and VIC (preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate exceptionally well with teams and individuals to ensure efficient, targeted outcomes.
  • Passionate about learning industry requirements with proven ability to develop strong relationships, both internally and externally - at all levels.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide multifaceted feedback to team members, specialists and clients.
  • High level of concentration required for extended periods.
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy include Microsoft Suite.


The core Responsibilities & Outcomes for this role include: 

  • Review, evaluate, edit and proofread medicolegal reports
  • Liaise with medical experts to ensure report requirements are met and report quality is exceptional
  • Implement corrective actions and verify that the reports are compliant with specific client and/or legislative specifications and impairment guidelines
  • Monitor and track progress of all reports to meet specific turnaround times
  • Build working relationships with clients, medical consultants and liaise with examinees regarding outstanding paperwork, radiology/ pathology reports and approvals
