Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.


An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our Brain Disorders Unit, Mental Health Division.


The Brain Disorders Unit is part of the Brain Disorders Program, a clinical unit of the Specialty Services Directorate, Mental Health Division, and is locate within the scenic gardens and grounds of the Royal Talbot Hospital Campus in Kew.


We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse Unit Manager who has a keen interest in leading a specialist State Wide unit and a passion for ensuring high quality patient care within a patient centred and recovery oriented framework. The position would be suitable for an established nurse leader with experience in mental health and/or aged persons mental health.


To be successful in this role you must demonstrate that you:




  • are an established nurse leader

  • have at least 5 years post graduate clinical experience

  • are familiar with relevant legislative frameworks, including Mental Health and Aged Care legislation and compliance requirements

  • have excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • have a demonstrated ability to work within interprofessional teams
