JOB DESCRIPTION

Employment Status: Temporary Placement (4-8 weeks)
Location: Regional & Remote Queensland & Northern Territory
Classification: Personal Carer, Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse
Remuneration Value: Current remuneration + incentives

Blue Care is inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Personal Carer’s, Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses to take part in our Regional & Remote Placement Program within our Regional & Remote Clusters

These opportunities will be offered across both our Queensland services, as well as our services in the Northern Territory under ARRCS

The Opportunity:
Undertaking a short-term placement into our Regional & Remote communities can provide an immersive development opportunity that includes:

  • Developing skills and capability. In your placement you will be exposed to different work environments, including new tasks, processes and approaches. This will strengthen your current skills as they are applied in new contexts, and contribute to building new skills as you are presented with situations you may not have experienced in our metropolitan clusters.
  • Gaining new perspectives. You will build insights across our organisation through experiencing significant cultural and social differences across our regional and remote communities.
  • Building resilience. Spending time in an unfamiliar community and aged care home for a period will offer the opportunity to foster problem-solving, adaptability and autonomy.
  • Positive Outcomes. Participation results in positive outcomes for the regional, remote and indigenous communities

How does the program work?
A number of placement opportunities will be offered throughout the year in our Regional & Remote services.

Our leaders in Regional & Remote services will identify the skills and experience needed based on the organisation’s priorities and will access the EOI application pool on an “as needs” basis. This means that applicants may be contacted an offered (no obligation) opportunities at any time throughout the year.

Travel and accommodation will be provided. You will also receive a placement allowance of $250 per week, plus meal allowances for the duration of your placement.

What is the duration of a placement?
Placements can range from a minimum of 4 weeks and up to a maximum of 8 weeks (including induction).

Longer term placements can be negotiated pending operational requirements.

Where are the placements?
Placements are available across our Regional & Remote Clusters as determined by business requirements. Opportunities will be discussed with suitable candidates as the needs arise.

Your skills and experience:
The placement program offers placement opportunities to high performing nursing and personal care employees, who are flexible, resilient and prepared to be taken out of their comfort zone.

Before applying, consider whether a placement experience of this type is the right development opportunity for you. The program needs people who are able to adapt quickly and be flexible about changes to priorities and work tasks. You must be prepared to listen to the needs of residents and recognise that you are there to support our Regional & Remote leaders achieve their outcomes.
