Clinical Informatics Officer - Mental Health/Outpatients



  • Deliver and optimise the ongoing EMR training program

Your new team



  • Join our EMR team working in Mental Health/Outpatients

  • Work closely with staff from within your allocated portfolio of to deliver the RMH EMR optimisation plan

  • work with the RMH EMR team, RMH subject matter experts and Parkville EMR team to identify design, build (if applicable), and test EMR improvements.


Your success in this role, will be in your ability to



  • Work collaboratively with the Royal Melbourne Hospital EMR team and Parkville EMR team to deliver end user training

  • Review and analyse EMR workflows and to support the delivery of the RMH EMR optimisation plan

  • Be responsible for delivering and optimising EMR training for new starters from multiple disciplines including onboarding education for large staff cohorts

  • Respond to adhoc training requirements and delivering education to support upgrades and the introduction of additional EMR functionality.

  • Review and analyse EMR workflows to support RMH end users with a focus on delivering safe, timely and effective care.


Your Contribution





  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field

  • All clinical professionals must meet credentialing requirements

  • A sound understanding of EMR functionality to support clinical workflows

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Epic EMR environments and implementation process

  • Experience working in a tertiary hospital, healthcare operations or software deployment in healthcare

  • A good operational knowledge of a hospital department or area including relevant policies and procedures

  • Previous experience in developing and delivering training curriculum

  • Ability to confidently present to small or large groups

  • Ability to effectively engage participants in training sessions

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and build strong relationships

  • Demonstrated commitment to lead and contribute as part of a team

  • Aptitude to learn quickly and apply knowledge across different contexts

  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills

  • Good organisation and time management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Experience in continuous improvement

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Adaptability and resilience
