Ongoing, Full Time role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and capable Allied Health Assistant to join our Allied Health Team in a permanent position. This is a great opportunity to further your skills and knowledge within a large, multifaceted organisation and enjoy being part of our dedicated Allied Health team. This role is offered at Grade 3, 3 days per week and Grade 2, 2 days per week. Applications for a component of this role will be accepted.
In this role you will work across a variety of Allied Health disciplines to provide a range of clinical support and direct therapy services for clients that promotes, maintains and assists recovery and independence in all aspects of daily living, at home, work, and in the community. Areas will include Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Speech Pathology and Dietetics. Under the direction of an Allied Health Professional, key responsibilities will include providing clinical care to patients in individual or group settings, using screening tools to gather information, documenting client progress and managing supplies and equipment.
Minimum criteria required:
- Qualification as an Allied Health Assistant – minimum Certificate 3
- An understanding of the physical and psychological aspects of rehabilitation care with the ability to treat, empathise with and provide person centred care to individuals with a range of abilities
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to enable effective liaison within a multi-disciplinary team and accurate documentation of case notes and statistics
- Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Sound keyboard and computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet, intranet and email applications
- A minimum 12 months Allied Health Assistance experience is preferred
- A minimum of 4 years' experience is required for a Grade 3 role
