Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer – East Coast

  • Can be based in NSW or Victoria
The opportunity

A rare opportunity has just become available with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team at Silver Chain Group. We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join our East Coast operations on a permanent part time basis. Working on Wednesdays will be a necessity for the role, the other days can be negotiated. The role will require interstate travel from time to time.

Key responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for providing advice to all business areas and supporting key stakeholders to ensure that they meet their occupational safety and health obligations. You will be an advocate for HSW and actively promote a positive safety culture and increase overall safety awareness across the business.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role is enthusiastic, influential and has excellent interpersonal skills. You will also meet the following criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in an OHS discipline are desirable
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment are desirable
  • Strong understanding of occupational safety & health
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety implications in a large and geographically diverse organisation
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Excellent computer literacy skills
  • Negotiation and influencing skills vital to providing support and advice to business leaders
  • Ability to work autonomously with a team focus
Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
