Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse to join our Apheresis team at Concord Repatriation General Hospital!

Do you have current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as well as demonstrated understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking?

The Apheresis Nurse-led Unit provides an essential service for patients requiring apheresis procedures for many differing specialties that include haematology, neurology, immunology and renal for cell and molecular therapies such as therapeutic plasma exchange, red blood cell exchange, haematopoietic and Car T cell collections. Responsibilities include autologous stem cell transplant reinfusions, venesections and bone marrow biopsies. Research is inclusive in the role and involves cell and molecular collections for external research centres and data collection for the ABMDR and WAA.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Desirable skills however very willing to train the right person in:

  • Apheresis procedures
  • Venepuncture and cannulation accreditation
  • CVAD accreditation
  • Quality systems knowledge i.e.: TGA, NATA and NSQHS
  • Antineoplastic experience with ADAC accreditation
This is a Monday to Friday role, however on call may be required on weekends.
