Perenjori is located in the heart of wildflower country, less than three hours from the Perth’s north east metropolitan area and approximately two hours from Geraldton and the coastal holiday towns of Jurien Bay and Dongara.

We are seeking the services of a qualified and motivated professional to manage the Corporate and Community Services functions of our progressive rural local government. This position is part of the Shire’s Leadership Team that has been empowered to develop and implement strategic and operational initiatives to sustain the Shires Economic future and Community ambition.

This position is responsible for the delivery of a diverse portfolio of responsibilities including governance and corporate support, administrative review and renewal, community and aspects of economic development & emergency management.

The ideal candidate will possess management experience, leadership financial & budgeting skills, have excellent knowledge of governance processes contract management and procurement practices, together with relevant tertiary qualifications & a current WA driver’s licence. A National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check is essential to this role. The position may equally suit a progressive individual looking at fast tracking their Local Government career in a diverse management role or an experienced campaigner wishing to make a difference to a rural community.

For the right person we offer the security of a 3 – 5-year contract with a total remuneration package of up to $155,000 per annum, including industry standard superannuation with the option of additional matching contributions up to 6%, a motor vehicle and housing. The town has an excellent primary school and early child-care centre, (with high schools in neighbouring Carnamah and Morawa,) and a medical practice. There are also active sporting and social activities including golf, bowls, football, netball and tennis. Perenjori offers a very friendly and safe community lifestyle.
