We are seeking a Casual Telephonist for the Switchboard at Hornsby Hospital. The position plays a vital role in ensuring Switchboard is covered over a 24hr period and requires the applicant to be available to cover planned or unplanned leave.

As a casual there are no set shifts. The position requires the successful applicant to be available to cover any of the three shifts covering the 24hr day: 0600 – 1430, 1345 – 2215, 2200 – 0630.

What you'll be doing
Switchboard operators answer both incoming/outgoing calls, interpret daily medical rosters and activate Emergency 2222 calls via the paging system.

Operators ensure calls are answered and transferred promptly, monitor alarms and issue/report pagers for repairs.
