JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Perioperative Educator to join our team at John Flynn Private Hospital in this Permanent Part Time opportunity offering 72 hours per fortnight!


About the Role

In this opportunity you will oversee clinical education and competency programs within the Perioperative Services Unit including Theatre - Scrub Scouts and Theatre orderlies/PSAs, Anaesthetics, Recovery, Cardiac Cath Lab, Day Surgery and CSSD. You will work in a collaborative team with Perioperative NUMs and Level 2 Clinical Nurses to ensure that the perioperative staff are supported in their education needs. The role will report to the Theatre NUM with a dotted line to both the Staff Development Manager.

This role encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services related to Perioperative education. The role requires working with and supporting management in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements. You will need to have exceptional communication skills, have the ability to manage challenging situations calmly, and be able to engage with all of our stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

  • Skilled Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Minimum of 5 years clinical experience within perioperative environment)
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in scrub/scout role
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment (or working towards)
  • Experience in a Perioperative Nurse Educator role
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to ensure excellence in customer service
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Excellent time management skills

Remuneration

On offer is a full-time equivalent, base annual salary ranging from; $107,217.96 - $114,792 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances
