The Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a qualified and experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse with excellent collaboration skills. You will be a resource for our clients regarding IPC issues, coordinating the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the facility-wide HICMR IPC Management Program to ensure compliance with current standards and guidelines.
Working predominantly in the Private Healthcare Sector, including Surgical-Acute Medical, Mental Health, and Rehab Facilities, you will collaborate with the client-nominated management team and their IPC representatives, to provide expert support, advice and mentoring. This is a leadership role, designed to guide hospital staff with the implementation of risk management strategies to protect patients, staff and visitors, from acquiring a healthcare associated or occupational infection and to provide a healthy working environment for all staff.
About you
You will be client focussed and passionate about best practice in IPC. You'll have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and at least 5 years of post-registration experience in the IPC area. Your relevant qualifications, including IPC, Immunisation and Counselling Related to Occupational Exposures, coupled with a commitment to continuous professional development, give you a good understanding of the needs of the healthcare sector.
You will be servicing clients predominantly based in the Melbourne metro area and be looking for a role that will offer you the flexibility to manage your own timetable. You'll be a professional who is able to work autonomously, as well as within a team.
A National Police Check, Working with Children Certificate and current, driver's license is required, as is your own car and laptop.
