The Role
Southern Adelaide Local Health Network | Flinders Women's & Children's Division | Family Advisory Unit
Total Indicative Remuneration $101,836 - $108,874 p.a. (pro rata) | P/T (16 hrs/wk) Ongoing
Providing midwifery services to clients using the Family Advisory Service which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners. Accepting accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff, you will provide support to the Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in the leadership of nurses/midwives in the Family Advisory Unit.
Demonstrating competence in Family Advisory nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards, you will be experienced in Midwifery or family planning education and counselling including to assist and counsel patients considering terminations of pregnancy. Experienced in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses, you will work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You will possess effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, whilst being creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting. You will have the ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. You will have a Family Planning Certificate (or be working towards).
This is a part time vacancy, working 16 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. You will be rostered on a 5 day roster (Monday to Friday) and annual leave will be allocated accordingly.
