About the Monash Health Wellness and Recovery Groups Program

The Butterfly Day Program commenced operations in 2007, and has a proud history of engaging adolescents and their families in the treatment of an Eating Disorder. Following a review and redesign of the model of care in 2016, a new treatment paradigm has been established that reflects best practice and innovation and is currently operating as the Wellness and Recovery (WRC) Groups Program.

The WRC Day Program is a community-based specialised service providing client-centred, holistic support and intervention to individuals (aged12-24 years) suffering from severe and complex eating disorders. The program offers a high level of care to individuals who require more intensive support than can be achieved through usual outpatient treatment. Through a combination of group therapy and meal support, our multidisciplinary team works with participants and their families and significant others to achieve nutritional rehabilitation and normalisation of eating behaviour
