The Position
We are seeking a suitably qualified Registrar to join our professional team in the Emergency Department at Wimmera Health Care Group.This position involves participating in a 24/7 roster and supervision will be provided by senior ED clinicians including FACEMS. The successful applicant will be expected to take part in a teaching program and there is scope for projects and research.

Wimmera Health Care Group is based in the Wimmera region appromimately 310 km west of Melbourne and 45 minute drive to the Grampians National Park. Our campuses in Horsham and Dimboola service an area of 61,000 square kilometres and a population of approximately 54,000 people. With a workforce of approximately 1,100 team members, we are the largest employer in the region and provide a range of acute, sub-acute, residential aged care, allied health, primary care, emergency and critical care services to our community. Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
- MBBS or equivalent degree
- Full general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
A minimum of three years postgraduate experience of which a minimum of two years should be in Australian hospitals.
- Relevant clinical experience in an Emergency Department
- Experience in the supervision of junior medical officers (interns)
- Experience in rural Australian Emergency Department
Desirable:
- APLS
- ATLS
- ACLS
