You will contribute to the provision of safe, best practice based, cost effective and consumer focused clinical neuropsychiatry services. This will be achieved both in terms of individual performance and by contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. You will provide specialist opinion on consumers referred for consultation, and coordinate follow-up care for consumers. Utilising your clinical experience, knowledge and skills, you will assume a clinical leadership role within the mental health service and be actively involved in teaching supervising trainee medical officers, interns and medical students and, where appropriate, nursing and allied health staff. You will ensure that medical services are delivered in accordance with Departmental, Hospital and regional policy manuals and documents, and with the professional standards of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. As part of your role, you will participate in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities, as well as contributing to relevant research and continuous medical education activities.
Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will have appropriate specialist qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration. You will also be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Demonstrating a high standard of clinical practice in Mental Health, you will have the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a flexible approach to working in changing environments.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and compliant Immunisation screening.
