Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.


An exciting fixed term opportunity currently exists for multiple enthusiastic and experienced COVID-19 Vaccinators to join our COVID-19 Vaccination Program Clinics in a part time or full time capacity.


The fixed term positions will run from mid February 2021 until October 2021 with the successful applicants having negotiable/stagered start dates

The COVID-19 Vaccination Program is run in conjunction with the DHHS to provide the approved COVID-19 vaccine to staff in the North East Region of Melbourne. Austin Health will be operating two clinics across the Austin Campus and Repatriation campus to ensure that demand for the vaccine can be met.


The COVID vaccinator will work as part of the COVID Vaccination Clinic team performing the vaccinations for both staff and the community, as well as assisting with clinic flow duties and ensuring compliance with the recommended administration process.


This dynamic and exciting role will be coupled with ongoing education and training during the fixed term period and allow a variety of experiences throughout both clinics that are operating.


To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include:









  • Must hold current registration with the - Medical Board of Australia for Medical Practitioners positions, The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, for all Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Immuniser, Registered Nurse & Enrolled Nurse positions, The Pharmacy Board as a pharmacist immuniser for pharmacist positions or The Paramedic Board for paramedic positions.

  • The vaccinator is required to be competent in vaccinating and have successfully completed an approved COVID vaccination training package (this can be completed on successful employment)

  • Must be proficient in the donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Must be competent in completing the 3-point identification check

  • Flexible in working hours and location

  • A flexible, innovative and team orientated approach to service delivery

  • Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards
