The Western Health Intensive Care Service operates two ICU's at the Footscray and Sunshine Hospitals, since the establishment of critical care services at Sunshine Hospital in 2015.


The Sunshine ICU is now a busy 9 bed adult ICU. Admitting over 1100 patients per year, the ICU has a medical, surgical and obstetric medicine case mix.


We are looking for an experienced critical care nurse leader to join us in the role of Nurse Unit Manager, Sunshine ICU. The Nurse Unit Manager in collaboration with the Director of ICU, the Operations Manager Critical Care Services and the Director of Nursing ensures the provision of safe and effective patient care within the ICU.


The ICU Nurse Unit Manager role is pivotal to the delivery of the ICU strategic aims including clinical, operational, education and research objectives.

Essential requirements:



  • Current NMBA registration

  • Critical care post graduate qualification or equivalent

  • Management qualifications

  • Sound leadership experience and highly developed comunication skills

  • A demonstrated record of achievement in leading and managing within a critical care service
