Are you an experienced Certificate IV TAFE qualified vet nurse? Come and join us on the south coast of NSW in the beautiful coastal town of Kiama. Kiama Vets are looking for an enthusiastic and positive vet nurse to join our friendly and bustling practice.
This full time position is available for a vet nurse who is passionate about high standards of veterinary care and client service and wants to enjoy a great lifestyle. The area is surrounded by fantastic beaches, cafes/restaurants and stunning mountainous scenery through the Jamberoo Valley.
The practice is a 3 vet mixed practice blessed with loyal clients who allow us the opportunity to provide high levels of surgical and medical case management.
The practice is equipped with Radincon digital radiography, IM3 dental unit + dental x rays, high quality S.A. ultrasound with Doppler as well as a BCF large animal ultrasound. We have a full range of Zoetis in house blood machines and Doppler blood pressure. We regularly perform orthopaedic procedures and extensive exploratory abdominal surgeries so an experienced background in nursing complicated medical and surgical cases is a requirement.
Your Role Would Involve Having Comprehensive Experience With
- Caring for and competently handling animals
- Maintaining the hygiene and cleaning of all equipment and animal areas
- Conducting general nursing tasks; treatments, pre and post-operative care and procedures
- Outstanding client care to all patients and owners
- Managing all enquiries professionally in person, by email and over the phone
- Administration duties and tasks as required
- Confidence in monitoring anaesthesia
- Radiography and processing in-house pathology
- High level of knowledge and understanding of veterinary nursing medical skills and procedures
- High level of knowledge and understanding of veterinary nursing surgical skills and procedures
- Being an enthusiastic team player
- Excellent customer service, phone manner and communication skills
- A calm & friendly professional manner
