Veterinary Nurse (Equine)
The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University
- Fixed term contract (Parental leave replacement)
- Full-time position (75 hours per fortnight)
- H0404 | $61k plus 9.5% employer superannuation contributions
- Ref: 1531G05/202645

The Role
The key purpose of this role is to provide high quality veterinary nursing care to equine patients and work with our great vet team. The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently, and develop their skills in the areas of
- Performance horse evaluations
- Specialist medicine and surgical examinations
- Surgical nursing
- Ambulatory nursing
- Specialty diagnostics
The preferred candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a veterinary practice, post qualification registrable in Western Australia with experience in equine practices.
- Demonstrated confidence and skill when handling and restraining large animals.
- Be a great communicator, love working with equine clients and their horses. You will need to get along well with the equine team as well as the broader team that works in The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be happy to take responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
