About the role

The Quality and Safety Team are currently seeking a clinician who is passionate about safety improvement and high quality care to join their team on a Permanent basis at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT).

Mater is committed to creating an organisational culture that values safety, identifies system vulnerabilities, and clearly integrates risk, quality and safety functions and activities.

What you’ll be doing

As the Quality and Safety Associate you will be responsible for activities as delegated relating to Quality and Clinical Safety Management, and accreditation, across the MPHT, which are essential to the licensing, service level agreements and contracts. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and frontline experience in a clinical background (at least 5 years would be desirable).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery including a basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of the hospital.
  • Experience in health care accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives and their practical application in the achievement of service/ delivery needs.
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience identifying trends and interpret data and provide reports on data / information used for projects, evaluation and process improvement activities; and
  • Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieved identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety.
  • Developed analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated communication, consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills including report writing and presentation skills, including experience in the use of computer software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and 
  • Ability to effectively lead and implement change in a complex environment.
