Night Switchboard Operator

(up to 54 hrs per fortnight)

We are seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our Main Reception team as a Night Switchboard Operator. This permanent part time position is available immediately involves working a rotating 7-day 24 hour roster including participation in an on-call roster. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing administrative duties to facilitate the smooth running of office operations during night shifts. This position includes running the switchboard, accident and emergency registrations, assisting with patient admissions and calling emergency procedures and MET calls. The Switchboard Operator requires excellent customer relations skills with patients, visitors and team members.

Essential:

• Ability/initiative to work unsupervised and to prioritise tasks
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Touch typing skills and experience with computer systems
• Well developed time management skills
• Pleasant and courteous manner
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment

Desirable:

• Experience with accounting systems and processes
• Qualifications in Business Administration
• Completion of an approved medical terminology training course
• Experience with switchboard operations
• Experience with cash handling, EFTPOS
