About Monash Women's

Monash Women's Maternity Service is the largest maternity service in the state of Victoria and provides care to more than 10,000 women each year across three hospitals - Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital as an integrated, seamless service. As expected for such a large volume service, Monash Women's provides maternity care for normal, healthy women and also for women with complex and sub-specialty needs.
Monash Women's also has an extensive general and sub-specialty gynaecology service consisting of inpatient and outpatient services across Moorabbin Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital and the Cranbourne Centre.

About the Role

Monash Women's is seeking to appoint a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist to the following sessions at Dandenong Hospital from week commencing 1/2/2021. It is possible for an applicant to be appointed to all sessions or for multiple applicants to be appointed.
+ Caesarean section operating list on Tuesday AM fortnightly (weeks two and four of the Monash Health cycle), first list on Tuesday 9/2/2021
+ Pregnancy care clinics on Tuesday PM, Thursday PM and Friday PM

It is anticipated the successful applicant/s will participate in the after hours on call roster.
The sessions involve working with and supervising midwifery and junior medical staff and reports to the Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dandenong Hospital.
The initial appointment will be for one year.

About you

You will have extensive experience as an obstetrician and gynaecologist and hold FRANZCOG (or equivalent) and undertake the role in a manner that demonstrates commitment to the positive leadership behaviours of Monash Health, to the principles of working together and to Monash Health's Vision, Purpose and Values. Ideally you will have demonstrated abilities in research, clinical governance, leadership and clinical teaching, training and supervision.
