The Role:


An exciting opportunity exists to join the established team of music therapists at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. We are seeking an experienced music therapist to provide music therapy services to neonates and infants within the Royal Children's Hospital. The main focus of service delivery will be to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and other speciality areas in the hospital as required.


Music Therapy at RCH is part of the Allied Health directorate and the team consists of 8 Registered Music Therapists who provide clinical music therapy services to children and adolescents with a range of medical conditions.

To be successful in this role you will have:



  • Working knowledge of music therapy for infants, children and young people; including neurodevelopment and mental health needs

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills

  • Experience of effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams

  • A flexible approach to programming and to clinical practice.

  • Demonstrated experience prioritising service and clinical demands
